Backup & Disaster Recovery Built for Resilience
OrbisCloud provides backup and disaster recovery services for virtual machines, physical servers, databases, file services and critical infrastructure. We design protection around recovery point objectives (RPO), recovery time objectives (RTO), retention, off-site copies, immutable storage and tested recovery procedures.
Complete Data Protection Services
OrbisCloud designs and operates backup environments for virtual machines, physical servers, databases, file services and critical infrastructure. The objective is not simply to create backup files, but to maintain recovery points that are secure, monitored, tested and ready when required.
VM & Server Backup
Image-level and workload-aware protection for VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, physical servers and other critical systems, with retention policies aligned to business requirements.
Cloud & Off-Site Backup
Extend protection to cloud and remote locations using off-site repositories, object storage and cloud recovery options for additional failure-domain protection.
Immutable & Secure Backups
Use immutable repositories, hardened storage, access controls and encryption to reduce the impact of ransomware, accidental deletion and unauthorized changes.
Disaster Recovery & Replication
Build recovery strategies using replication, standby infrastructure, alternate locations and cloud recovery according to application criticality and recovery objectives.
Recovery Testing & Validation
Test restores and recovery workflows instead of assuming backups will work. Validate boot, application availability, data integrity and documented recovery procedures.
File & Application Recovery
Recover complete systems, individual files and application data with recovery methods selected for the workload and business impact.
Design Around RPO, RTO and Business Impact
RPO (Recovery Point Objective) defines how much data loss the business can tolerate. RTO (Recovery Time Objective) defines how quickly a service should be restored. These targets should be set according to application criticality and business impact rather than applying one backup schedule to every workload.
- Tier critical applications and infrastructure by business impact.
- Define RPO and RTO targets for each protection tier.
- Select backup frequency, retention and replication accordingly.
- Document dependencies such as DNS, identity, storage, networking and databases.
- Test recovery procedures and record the results.
Modern Backup: 3-2-1-1-0
A resilient design can extend the traditional 3-2-1 approach with an additional immutable or offline copy and recovery verification. The commonly referenced 3-2-1-1-0 model means three copies of data, two storage media, one off-site copy, one immutable or offline copy, and zero recovery errors verified through testing.
This approach is consistent with modern backup guidance from Veeam, while NIST contingency-planning guidance emphasizes recovery strategies, testing, exercises and ongoing maintenance. OrbisCloud can translate these principles into a practical protection architecture for your environment.
Protection layers: Production data → Local backup → Off-site/cloud backup → Immutable or offline recovery copy → Recovery verification
Our Backup & DR Approach
Assess. Identify critical workloads, existing protection, storage, dependencies and recovery risks.
Design. Build backup, replication and recovery architecture around RPO, RTO, retention and security requirements.
Implement. Configure jobs, repositories, off-site copies, immutable storage and monitoring.
Protect. Apply access controls, encryption, retention policies and isolated recovery copies.
Validate. Perform restore tests, recovery verification and documented DR exercises.
Improve. Review failures, capacity, retention and changing business requirements to keep the recovery strategy current.
Be Ready to Recover When It Matters
From a single server to a virtualized data center or hybrid cloud environment, OrbisCloud can help you build, secure and validate a recovery strategy that supports business continuity.
